Claude didn't look that point to me, but if Rena says so...Seeing Rena in such a state, Claude can't help but try and make her feel better by sharing his point of view, that is, she is their friend first and a Nedian second. If you recall, they've already had a discussion about how Rena was 'different' from the other people on Expel: you'd think this one here is the last one we get, but you'd be proven wrong towards the end of the game (and each time she feels worse).
